GOD's Sovereign Leadership over History歴史

His story includes your conversion, but extends through time-twisting dimensions, immeasurable privileges, and lavish gifts beyond anything our brains can contain. GODs' going to have a story line against all odds and He wants you involved with Him in this glorious Drama.

The “providential view of history” holds that God is in control of history and he continually provides guidance. This is also sometimes called the “Christian view of history.”神は、履歴の管理では、彼は継続的に指導を提供しています「摂理歴史のビュー」を保持します。これも呼びます「史キリスト教ビュー」。

Where is the world headed?

How are things supposed to come out? What is the end of it all (and "end" more in the sense of telos [purpose] than finis [when does it stop])? If the assumption is that history as a whole is a meaningful, directed sequence, then the answer to these questions is important--all-important. Of course, if the assumption is that history is not a directed sequence, then the questions ought not even be asked; they have no answers. History, in such case, amounts merely to what each generation decides to do with its moment, consists merely in independent moments, each an end in itself. If no one can be found to open that scroll, it's all over for the human race; hopeless; we have been plunked down in the middle of a maze with not so much as a sense of direction as to where "out" lies. Rev 5:1-5 And yet, John tells us, there was no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth able to open the scroll. Man-with all his learning, science, and technique--still is too short-lived, too finite, too time-bound to be of any good here. The history he controls is too short a snatch out of the drama as a whole; even our shiny, new computerized science of futurology has difficulty handling decades when our ultimate concern must be with the eons. Modern man has become a real whiz at manipulating moments; but this has no significance at all in telling us where we should be headed. No more in the twentieth century than in the first can there be found anyone competent to open the scroll. John does well to weep; and we would, too, were we alert enough to realize our situation.

GOD choose Jerusalem as a city and the land of Israel before anything happened in History. He picked it then built History around it. GOD’S SOVEREIGNTY IS THE FOUNDATIONAL PREMISE BEHIND THE ENTIRE STORY OF HUMAN HISTORY. GOD HAS THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE WHAT HE WANTS TO DO, HOW HE WANTS TO DO IT AND THE WHEN AND WERE OR IT.

Why is history so important to the Christian faith?

History is crucial to Christianity because it keeps the Christian faith from degenerating into mythology. Unless the Bible is rooted in actual historical events, there is no reason to think that Jesus of Nazareth should be any more determinative for my life today than so-called gods like Thor, Odin or Zeus or any other mythological deity. History is the vital component in Christianity because it grounds faith in fact and keeps it from being mere myth.

God’s court is in session (Daniel 7:9, 10, 26), with the Judge taking his seat to evaluate the nations. The Father sits as judge over the nations as He fulfills His plans for world history. In the midst of great chaos on earth is the all-powerful throne of the Ancient of Days. The heavenly court administrates God’s decrees about the final government of the earth. History is not spiraling out of control. Even when it appears that beast kingdoms are ruling without any account, the Ancient of Days is bringing forth His glorious purposes, working out His plans from the perspective of eternity.

God was our first Father, and His Presence our dwelling-place: but we were cast out of Paradise for sinning, and are in a dreary land, a valley of darkness and the shadow of death. We are born in this spiritual Egypt, the land of strangers . . . [and] by nature slaves we are, slaves to the Devil. He is our hard task-master, as Pharaoh oppressed the Israelites. But "notice that while oppressors have carried out their plans in History, there were other forces silently at work which in time underminded their plans- as if a Divine Hand were directing the counter plan"-Charles Carleton Coffin

From the beginning of time the Father's ultimate plan was to provide a bride for His Son JESUS who would reign together with Him in intimacy and power. Threw this grid GOD has been orchestrating History in specific directions and allowing certain nations to rise and certain to fall, certain people to discover certain things, and for certain events to happen to display one of many of His attributes to mankind; while all working together ultamitley to a closing were evil is put to death, JESUS' bride has made herself ready to receive Him, and for the Father to establish His throne on the earth and everybody lives happily ever after.

Not in the miracle of the loaves only, though in that especially, but in all parts of Scripture, in history, and in precept, and in promise, and in prophecy, is it given to see the Gospel Feast typified and prefigured and that immortal and never-failing Supper in the visible presence of the Lamb which will follow upon it at the end.  So we Study the past to gain insight on how to interpret what is to happen in the days to come. when you read the other passages about the end-time events read them threw the grid of understanding the trouble in the Past.Types,Shadows, symbolisim and imagrey have been established through out History by GOD as a forshodowing of what's ultamitly going to happen at the end of natural History; GOD orchastrates or writes History in the same way an author writes a book using literary techniques.

A type, in its primary and literal meaning, simply denotes a rough draught, or less accurate model, from which a more perfect image is made; but in the sacred or theological sense of the term, a type may be defined to be a symbol of something future and distant, or an example prepared and evidently designed by God to prefigure that future thing. What is thus prefigured is called the antitype.

The Bible contains three kinds of types: The historical, the legal, and the prophetical.

Using this foundation we can look into human History even outside the bible using these tools of inturpitation to get a grander scope of GOD's eternal purposes.

The proper approach is to start with Scripture, God speaking to us. There our doubts and unbelief are resolved; in allowing Scripture to speak we hear the truth.

BODY 2: How do we know that historical facts are real?

Since we cannot directly observe the past, can we know anything about it as it actually happened? The events themselves have gone and all we’re left with is an historian’s statement. Could our ideas of the past be an elaborate fabrication, as untrustworthy as a dream?

People can be skeptical today of the idea that history is an objective reality because of the popularity of relativistic views of truth. Post-modernism denies the existence of objective truth. Post-modernists believe that the past is merely the construction of the present. They believe that since the events of the past are gone, they are lost—they’re no longer accessible.  Therefore history is what we make it.  And, moreover, since they claim that no historian is a neutral observer, but is inevitably caught up in the historical process, he cannot reconstruct the past objectively as it really was.  This has led some thinkers to a relativistic view of history according to which, as one person put it, “History is a series of lies that everyone has decided to agree upon.”

The difference between a dream and history, of course, is that history leaves a residue and a dream does not. And it’s through this residue, whether in the form of literary documents or archaeological debris, that historians are able to reconstruct the past. True historians work within the constraints of the remaining evidence. And that’s the difference between actual history and a dream. It is only on the basis of the evidence that we can reconstruct the past; we are certainly never justified in going against that evidence.

The historian follows the same method as the historical scientist in sciences like geology, paleontology or cosmology. There the scientist is also involved in reconstructing the past, either the past history of the universe or the earth’s past. The only real difference between the scientist and the historian is that the historian studies human history rather than earth history or cosmic history. But in terms of method, they’re doing exactly the same. The historian’s history is on the same level as the geologist’s history or the cosmologist’s history. When people try to play off history against science, they’re making an illegitimate move because history is on “all-fours” with the historical sciences. As long as we proceed within the constraints of the evidence, there’s no reason to think that we can’t reconstruct the past as it actually happened.

Christians confess that all humans “bear the image of God.” The meaning of this term has been hotly debated but Reformed Christians generally see it as referring to the human ability and obligation to act as “God’s representatives on earth” by loving each other and exercising benign authority over the created world. This principle explains and justifies the human impulse to create culture. Of course, human agency and creativity are often used for very un-Godlike purposes. Reformed Christians see the human propensity toward evil as a result of “the fall” of humanity into sin. The traditional theological terms for the unpleasant side of humanity—“original sin” and “total depravity”—have gone out of fashion, but the reality they describe is widely observable: all people tend to despoil the planet and treat other people less fairly and generously than they themselves would like to be treated even though they—we—know that such failures are somehow wrong. More happily, Reformed Christians also believe in “common grace,” the notion—also widely observable—that despite their defects, people are capable of doing good to others and displaying amazing creativity. Hence I, as a Reformed Christian, believe that all people as individuals and as communities are capable of both amazing good and horrifying evil. Indeed, that is what is most distinctive about.

when learning history outside a biblical perspective or hearing from a historian Don’t assume that what a primary source tells you is accurate and true. The author might be a liar or a dupe, have an agenda, or be misinformed. Put the document in context. Check it against other sources. Be skeptical, even suspicious, before you trust it. Keep your guard up even after you decide to trust it. our main source is from the bible out, it is our starting point.

There are four traps we should avoid when looking into History:

  1. Poststructuralism, ( There are no transcendent values in History or government; each individual must interpret them for himself according to the standards they make for themselves.)
  2. Modernism, ( Examines Historical incidents as if they had occurred today, and historical persons as if they lived today, rather than in the past. Separates History from its context and setting.)
  3. Academic Collectivism, (A heavy reliance on peer-review as the almost exclusive standard for Historical truth. Experts quote each other and those from their group rather than consulting original sources.)
  4. Deconstructionism. ( A steady flow of negatives about institutions, beliefs, and values in order to tear down the old certainties upon which the culture is founded.)

These 4 are the source of why there's trouble in the world.
Each trouble doesn't have all 4 involved. And we don't always know witch of the 4 are involved to witch degree. All four of them are often involved but there's different motives and reasons.Philosophers and theologians recognize two kinds of evil: moral and natural.2 Moral evil stems from human action (or inaction in some cases). Natural evil occurs as a consequence of nature—earthquakes, tornadoes, floods, diseases, and the like.

1. Satan's radge

There are angelic and demonic authority structures over each city and nation (1 Peter 5:8) ; we wrestle against these demonic principalities and rulers of darkness in the heavenly places (Eph. 6:12). Political leaders and governmental infrastructure are affected by the activity of angels and demons; the result of their conflict affects the events, decisions, and cultures of the cities of the earth.Demonic spirits target leaders with governmental authority to harass, oppress, and oppose them. For example, demonic powers can incite negative feelings in a king (heads of state). Prayer releases greater Holy Spirit activity (including angelic activity) to hinder demonic activity so that a king might “feel” differently—thus, leading his cabinet meeting with a whole different tone or posture.  Daniel 10 gives us insight into what happens in the spirit realm when we pray.

2. Man's sin

Moral evil stems from human action (or inaction in some cases). A skeptic might admit that God can be excused for the free-will actions of human beings who violate His standard of goodness. The suffering caused by cholera in rural Bangladeshi villages  for example—and other water-borne diseases—is rooted in man’s failure to act, not in God’s design.

3. Creation's grown

(Romans 8, there's an accumulation of sin that's building in its impact on the created order. That's why there's hurricanes and volcanos and all these convolutions in history because creation is frowning because man has sinned). Natural evil occurs as a consequence of nature—earthquakes, tornadoes, floods, diseases, and the like.

4. GOD's Zeal

(or His Love). He Loves us so much He won't allow us to continue without confronting us if we're living in a path of destruction and rebellion twords Him. So He interviens in order to get our attention. He's Zealous for righteousness, He disciplines, judges, and confronts wrong cause He cares. If He didn't care He wouldn't confront.

The message of the book of Joel is this; regardless witch of those 4 it is, even if all 4 are involved, the response is the same, you turn to GOD with all if your heart cry out for mercy, cry out for intervention, the favor of GOD comes and the bad things stop. The answer is in His favor being released to you, He can settle all 4 of them.

GOD isn't doing it for Israel particularly, He does love them, but GOD so Loves the earth and the nations.God selected Israel to receive and study the Torah, to worship God only, to rest on the Sabbath, and to celebrate the festivals. Jews were not chosen to be better than others; they were simply selected to be a light to the Gentiles and to be a blessing to all the nations Exodus 19:5 . This story includes your own individual story, experiences and conversion, but extends through time-twisting dimensions, immeasurable privileges, and lavish gifts beyond anything our brains can contain. He's doing this to prove and exhibit His Holy Name to everyone. He's going to have a story line against all odds and He wants you involved with Him in this glorious Drama.
GOD puts Himself in Divine check-mate. It's like He paints Himself into a corner on purpose.
He gave the oil to the Islamic nations who hate Israel. He put the oil there so the who earth needs the oil to run. So the nation that is most hostile against JESUS has to be the nation that'll be most fervent for Him. So He's got the nation that's not going to exsist cause everyone's against them and then they have to worship JESUS and choose Him though they hate Him more then any other nation hates Him.

By definition History is GOD's providance in human affairs.
