My mom was suddenly widowed at 35.  My father got ill and died quite unexpectedly and his passing left my mother to raise us (their 3 girls) alone.  Life wasn't easy.  And she made every sacrafice for us.  First by moving us so we could get a fresh start.  Then by working a job that allowed her to try and be home when we were.  She then volunteered at our after school programs to help us earn our uniforms, money for trips to competitions, etc.  There some days as we got older, she went to work in the morning and didn't return home until after 9, 10, or even 11.
Her life was a continual sacrifice for us.  But it was when a fellow classmate of our's found themselves homeless, that my mother made a lasting impression on me.  She took in the family, into our home.  A single mom with three kids of her own.  It wasn't an easy choice to make, and it definitely caused strife within our own family from time to time.  But I will never forget the compassion she showed.  We all made room for them, and it was just how it was.  I never questioned it.  I knew my mom made sacrifices for us because she loved us.  But she taught us to make sacrifices for others less fortunate than us.   My mother modeled strength, sacrifice, and love every day.  I am blessed to have her.  We all are.

My mom is in heaven, but she led me to Jesus and modeled what it means to be a woman of God.  She loved children, and paved the way for me to teach Sunday school and also 25 years at a Christian preschool.  She was full of fun and made every day special.  She would add a party to a doctor visit or business trip.  Her family was important to her and she celebrated everyone's birthday to make them feel special.  She would ask a waitress about her day.  Others always came first.  When I would complain about someone,  she would say, "What would you do in their place?"  She endured 12 Chemotherapy treatments at age 75 so that I could have her until she was 95.   She told a grumpy old man at her assisted living place, "You need Jesus."  She showed me that Jesus is real.

My mom is a angel in disguise. She raised six kids by herslef she had a horrible childhood but she always has a beautiful smile on her face. She is always there for me. I am a single mom of two boys and when I feel like im about to just go insane she gives me a hug and tells me keep.going dont give up I didnt give up on you. My mom has her days when someone hurts her feelings or makes her a little mad and I dont like that because she is the best friend I will ever have and I dont like see her that way. She makes sure all the kids go to church anf love God. I thank God everyday for her.

My mom is the best mom. In my opinion at least. She has helped me through many tough times, didn't leave me or my family even through hard times (when I was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia) and has always been there with an affirming word and a smile for me and everyone :)

My mom has gone on to be with the Lord but she's still my best friend. She loved me unconditionally and not with "tough love." I love her and miss her with all of my heart. There's not a day that goes by that I don't tell her I miss her so much out loud.

Momma lived and walked in the fruit of the spirit and taught me to do the same. She is meek, humble, and timid but knows how to gain her strength from the Lord. The most important gift she ever gave me was the gift of knowing God. One of my earliest memories is she, my dad and I kneeling on the side of the bed every night and praying. They would have me repeat what they said. I knew how to pray before I could read. LOL

I could go on and on about my delicate little flower. If I could only have her back to hold me for 1 second it would change my life forever. Momma, I love you unconditionally so very much and I can't wait to see you again!

My mom is my best friend. She has always been there for me when ever I needed her the most. On New Year's night (this last one), my mom had a heart attach. I received the call from my dad that she was in the hospital. It really hit me hard when I heard the news. I drove up to see her asap (2 hour drive). The doctors did an emergency surgery to put in some stints to unclog her arteries in her heart. They ended up putting in 3 stints. The next day the doctor informed us that she needed more stints in her heart and that she also had major blockages in her legs and only getting 5% blood flow to her brain because of a blocked artery in her neck. My mom has smoked her whole life and the doctor said she HAD to quit. I was so worried that my mom wouldn't be strong enough to quit. But my mom always amazes me. She ended up quitting cold turkey. I am very happy and proud of my mom. She is the strongest person I know. 7 months after her heart attack, I am very proud to say that my mom still hasn't had a smoke and she has gone in for surgery and got both of her legs unclogged and she is able to walk around much better without loosing her breath or her legs going numb. I am so grateful to God for watching over my mom and keeping her in my life. Cause only God knows how much I love and need my mom with me right now.

Oh God soooo used my mother in my life....  She chose to be my mother.... she chose to accept me..... she chose to love me.... she chose to keep me and call me her daughter.... you see I came into her life at the age of six as a foster child.... and after six years she and my father adopted my 2 brothers 1 sister and myself.... and most importantly she introduced me to my Savior.... for that alone I am etenally grateful....

My mother, bless her soul is such an inspiration to me. In 1983 she lost my brother in a house fire and then on what would have been his 39th birthday she also lost my 43 year old sister to cancer. She, herself, has battled cancer and is a survivor. I only hope I can be half the mom that she is and continues to be. She is my hero and I can never express in words what she means to me.

My Mother, Dorothy, who went home to be with the Lord on February 15, 2011,  lived her life as Jesus Christ told us to, "If you love Me obey Me'. She was a good example of a Child of God!!! Thank You, Mom!!!

I love my Mom,

She is so caring. She encouraging me to read my bible. She home schools me, Witch i think is a huge sacrifice. She could just send me to public school and spend the whole day with her friends. She does this for me and my four sisters and three brothers, Just to protect me from all the harmful things you can hear at a middle school. In Two words you can describe my mom. Loving and Amazing.

Mom's worst punishment was when she threatened not to let us go to church.  Instant tears and running to complete the assignments given earlier ( she did let us go).  Another time she came home and chores were not completed.  Mom put the ingredients for a chocolate cake on the table and stated she was going to make a cake but since we were disobedient the cake would have to be made another time.  Tears (I will not state how old I was) but tears and again cleaning like a whirlwind then begging on my knees holding hers until she relented :).  You know I did my chores from then on :).  We went through many emotional disasters due to a family members alcohol addiction and abuse; but fortunately we were introduced to and fell madly in love with the Lord early in life.  God brought us through everything; God and mom holding it all together.  Today the family member is free from previous additions and is a spirit filled believer and grateful for mom too.  She is his personal care provider for my father as he is legally blind.  I am grateful for a mom who surrendered to the Lord wooing her, raising us in the church, teaching us that with God all things are possible.  A relationship with the Lord is the best gift she could have showed us.  Thankful for when the years of rebellion manifested in me she would anoint me with oil and pray over me at night.  I got the best sleep after those prayers.  Finally my all was turned back to the Lord, not just me but all my siblings, some sooner some later but all!  Mom has been blessed to see grand children and great grands as well.

My mother is a huge blessing and gift from God in my life, Talk about having a role model. Life for my mom has had a lot of up's and downs ever since i was five. I know it was hard for her being a single mom, of five children and yet she stood strong. Her relationship with God has changed not only her, but it has given us children the desire to seek a relationship with the Lord as well.  She is beautiful inside and out, and i just want her to know that mom, i praise God, for giving such a wonderful woman to lead and direct me in my life. I wouldn't be who i am today if not for you and Jesus.

My mom who is no longer here is still very special to me. She has taught me to be who I am today. I was 14 when I lost my mom to cancer. She was diagnosed with both breast and bone cancer(no she didnt have leukmia). She was just 38 when she passed. I am now 35 and have been going for mammograms since I was 34. She passed away on Memorial Day May 30, 1991. But I have another mom in my life. I know she isn't replacing my real mom and she has told me that herself. My dad remarried a year after my real passed. My step-mom is now known as "grandma" to my son and that makes me feel good knowing he has a grandma in his life. My stepmom and I really didn't get along when I was younger but now we get along just find and really well. She is also very special to me as well as my real mom.

My Mom is so special to me because she does so many things for me. I wouldn't be where I am right now if it wasn't for her. About 8 years ago, she was in the hospital because she had a lupus flair up. That was the worst time of my life. I seriously thought that she was going to die. If I would've lost her then I probably wouldn't be where I am right now spiritually. She has helped me with so many thing in my teenage years. Because of her I have a reason to never doubt my religion. Now I know that if anything does happen to her I know that I will have people to talk to.
