Hi Debbbie,

Your tree sounds cute.  Isn't it hard to do things differently, as you say?  That really hit me recently...everything is different now and will continue to be.  As they say, we don;t get back to normal, we have to create a new normal.  As hard as it has been for me to do things differently, I also think it is healthy.

How wonderful you got away for Thanksgiving.  And so close to me too!  I am in Baltimore.  We spend most holidays in Northern VA with my in-laws.  Thanksgiving was lovely.  I thought of you and your family.  Getting through all those first holidays is hard.

I have always wondered how well those ovens cooked.  What a wonderful thing to be able to appreciate little blessings like this.  You sound very much like that type of person.

Today is my husband's birthday. ...would have been 41.  I was sad this morning, but fine now.  The kids and I attach notes on balloons and let them fly to mark the day.  I guess it will be our tradition since we did it last year too.

Thank you for your prayers about the anger.  It has definitely been better lately.  Once we recognize what it is, it seems easier to deal with.  I think we all have just grieved so differently...emotions are all over the map and tend to be misunderstood.

Do you have family close to you?  My family is all over the place, but most my in-laws are close by.  They are so kind and supportive.  I am grateful.  I hope you have that too.

Hope you are doing ok.  December is a tough month.  I think of you and pray for you and your children.  I hope and pray you are finding moments of joy.
