‘Calvary is the secret of it all’ has been my dominating thought this week. All Jesus accomplished on the Cross is His provisional force in our lives when we appropriate this truth by faith. Our daily walk is transformed by His resurrection power; as we count (appropriate) the truth that we are crucified with Christ and we are risen with Christ and hang on, we are ascended with Christ. You and I are seated at the right hand of the Father, ‘in’…Continue

In 1970 the top country song was” I Beg Your Pardon I Never Promised You a Rose Garden…..” I was nine at the time and loved this song….. it was nothing to do with the song per say as it was clearly about an adult relationship and I was still trying to figure out my childhood…. But these few lines, “I beg your pardon I never promised you a rose garden…. Along with the sun shine there has got to be a little rain some time…” hit home with me…… Already…Continue

I was waiting for church to start a few weeks ago, and as has often happened, the Holy Spirit communicated something to me.
My living situation has changed yet again. I lost both jobs after 13 years, and had to look outside of the area for work. I now work about 300 miles from my home, where my wife is. After 1 1/2 years of this, I lost my place where I was staying because my friend accepted a position as a pastor of a church about a 2 hour drive away, and they are moving…Continue
Are you wondering how much more you can take of your present circumstances? Do you feel as though you just might explode if something doesn't change for the better? Or perhaps if something doesn't change altogether? Does life seem like drudgery day after…Continue
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
Can a child of God be busy about the Master's business and not be led of the Lord? I am here to give an emphatic yes to that question. We can be so caught up with what we want to do for the Lord that we forget it's not our will but His will that is to be done. In essence we are leading ourselves instead of the Master, the Lord Jesus Christ. We need to get out of the way and pray: " Master Jesus…Continue

Oh restless heart why do you trouble me so…. Restless waves of nameless emotions… My soul is pressed…. My spirit is compelled to surge onward…. There is a prodding from heaven above….
Words unspoken speak in the slightest voice…. Follow through… finish what is left undone …. You must move on to where He needs you now…. There are loose ends that need binding…. Chapters to finish… So new phases can arise……Continue
It's still early enough in January I can say: "Happy New Year," everyone!
Are you ready for a New Year? A New Start? A New Beginning? I love the emphasis of a New Year! Because it gives us permission to "start" again. There are those times when we just have to start over or start something new; or maybe if things are going well for you it might be to start challenging yourself a little more. Whatever it is it has to be "NEW"
God promises in His word that we are a New…Continue

Brothers and Sisters,
A new year.
What will it bring? What did it interrupt? What will come to an end? What will it expose? What will it bring together or separate? What will cause you to laugh or wring out your soul with sadness? What dreams will be realized or evaporate?
A new year.
Heralded across our…Continue
