Simple Successful Steps

Simple Successful Steps lead to Giant Size Victories

The other day my family was on a photo shoot near a train track.  While my wife, daughter and the photographer were taking a few pictures, I had the job of keeping my 2 year old preoccupied.  Like any 2 year old boy he immediately wanted to get on the train tracks.  Well he made it over onto…

Loving whose way?

“I did it my way” is a song that could easily describe the way sometimes we love others.  We seem to forget to look at people’s needs or the phase they are in on their journey and focus instead on what we consider the “right” way to love.  Loving our way is easy, wouldn’t you agree? Loving people…

Healed and Whole in Jesus' Mighty Name

Hallelujah!

So I have suffered from sinus problems since I was a little girl. In fact, when I was about nine, I was prescribed what everyone thought was this miracle drug as it took away my sinus pain and infection immediately. I was on this wonderdrug for approximately twenty years. When I moved to San Francisco, I…

Answer to Unitarian Universalism

If Unitarianism offered itself as a social perception where all should live together in harmony, that would be fine. However, in that Unitrarianism puts itself forward as a religion, it is a deception and does not practice the truth.

There is that which is of God, and that which is not of God. That which supposes to include God in that which is not God is wicked, and demonic in it's entirety.

There is a blog post appearing on the front page of this site that, once posted, was…

Unitarian beliefs - Ty Fortner

Core values

Unitarian beliefs

There is no Unitarian creed - i.e. there is no specified list of things that Unitarians must believe.

Unitarians are sceptical about any one person or tradition possessing the whole truth. They are also increasingly aware of the inherent value of diversity for the wellbeing of the natural world.

With these points in mind, Unitarians suggest that human differences of opinion and lifestyle should be…

Waiting for him on His Time

When I was a young girl and people would ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I always said "Married."

In a few weeks I will be turning 47 and have never been married.

This past year, I have grown so much in the Lord. I…

I blog to vent....

I just want to take a moment before I begin the real purpose of this blog to say how grateful I am for my husband because even on our worst days, I can honestly say I am the luckiest person in the world. My husband snatched me up almost four years ago at the very young age of 19, with his own child to take care of, and snatched up my almost one year old son who had been abandoned by his birth father before he was even born (and that story is for another day =)). My husband did something that is… Continue

obituary/ & "helping others"

Obituary

Our church was saddened to learn this week of the death of one of our most valued members, Someone Else.

Someone's passing creates a vacancy that will be difficult to fill. Else has been with us for many years and for every one of those years, Someone did far more than a normal person's share of the work. Whenever there was a job to do, a class to teach, or a meeting to attend, one name was on everyone's list, "Let Someone Else do it." Whenever leadership was mentioned,…

Anyone else? Mothering! Some days you feel like you're just on top of the world with the best kids in the world.. Those are the days where you take a fleeting moment to think "maybe I want Another one..." but then... Wow.... Then the other day comes. They don't want to get along, they don't want to share, they don't want to do schoolwork, they want to talk back, they dont want to do their chores...and on and on it goes and you can honestly think "what on earth was I thinking!! Another one?! No… Continue

God's Ways Are Not Our Ways

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.  Romans 10:17

Brothers and Sisters in the LORD,

The object of our faith in God is that we would be focused on the object of the Father—His Beloved Son Jesus. Our faith and praise and worship will always come back to His Person, who He is and what He has done. Though the primary thought in our hearts is not…

Through the eyes of love

Wouldn’t it be nice if we could see people the way God sees them? We know we should love those around us as much as we love ourselves, we know we need to love everyone the same… but let’s be honest, sometimes it is not as easy as it sounds.

We ask God to give us His eyes, like in the song by…

Help For the Depressed, Lonely, and Suicidal...

I'm sharing my story in order to reach out to others. It's so hard to look back in time and enter to that place where it was one of the worst times in my life. I was abused as a child physically and mentally by a relative. It started from the age of 11-16. Sometimes when my friends ask me things about my past during those years, it's weird but I really can't remember much from back then. I mean other than the abuse. I can recall almost each and every situation…

Giving up

To all who are thinking off giving up on God and all that He has, DON'T.  He has so much much to give.  I know first hand of what it is like to not have things go their way.  I know of frustration and hardships, but I never gave up.  It may take time for things to change.  One thing to keep in mind is that God has everything under control.  He knows what we need, and at the right time it will be given to you.  Keep trusting, believing and listening to God.  Keep praying and reading…

Popo (grandpa)

Growing up I didnt have my dad around I had my Popo its what I called my grandpa. I remember being little and looking at him and thinking no one could ever take his place in my heart and no one has. He was the greatest man ever I remember he would wake up before the sunrise and would go to work and would come home after dark but he always made sure we all had something to eat. Now when I say all of us I mean my grandma, mom, my three older brothers, two older sisters, and my two uncles he would… Continue

Live in the now

Sometimes we may complain that our children are connected to their electronic devices all the time putting us to the side and living in their own world.  I understand things change, each generation has differences which should be understood and young people want their space, but that doesn’t mean that they…
