Dear fellow Seekers,        Thursday July 16

Jesus , God’s Son, is His living Word—He has no other. Having spoken His true message to us altogether in this one Word, once and for all, He has no reason to speak anything that would replace His word. So anyone seeking God for a vision or revelation of some so-called ‘higher truth’ Take care! When you seek a new ‘word’ from God- a new means to live the spiritual life- you are in danger of pushing aside the one perfect Word that He has given already.

Each of us must realize, like David, that even our highest thoughts are utterly low: this is how God brings us to a humble spirit. We must see we know nothing at all and only then can we drink from His Spirit. This type of humility must  come to each of us to replace our spiritual pride

“Do not resist. Let the Lord Himself lead you to the place where you see exactly how dry and miserable you are apart from Him.

This is our journey!

The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself in love.  Galatians 5:6

Chew on this verse for a while. Anything we do, even if we qualify it as an act of faith, is not acceptable to the Holy God, unless it is empowered by the Holy Spirit.  Only what is done by Christ through us will last. That pretty much changes everything I think and do.

On the road that leads from walking in the flesh to walking in the Spirit, the enemy brings his strongest opposition. He works to keep us in the flesh and spiritually weak, focused on ourselves. Romans 6 and Galatians 2:20 along with numerous other places in scripture we are told to reckon ourselves dead to sin, moment by moment for only where there is death to our old sin nature can we experience resurrection power! It results transformation inside and out. Death is God’s only plan for the sin nature. He is creating the likeness of Christ in us! We house the Son of the living God!

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5-6

For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need Hebrews 4:15-16

Fix your eyes on Him alone for in Him I have spoken and showing you everything. He is beauty and Truth and Love and Grace and Hope and mercy and…. Endlessly on and on for in eternity there will always be more to know about our Savior.

Much love fellow Seekers
