Were done here God. It's been nice knowing you. If you are not going to step in and do something about this then I am finished. Do you know of someone (or perhaps yourself) that has said this ? Maybe not in those exact words or perhaps they haven't said a word at all, but they haven't been to church for months. "They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us." 1 John 2:19 Unlike Job who went through fiery trials and continued trusting God and did not falsely accuse Him, these type of individuals gave up on God. I like to think that they knew of God but did not really know Him personally. Then again, Job's wife was probably looking ahead to the cross that Jesus was to die on and she may have been a believer . After all she went through , it is no wonder she was on the verge of giving up on God. She went so far as to suggest to her husband: "..curse God,and die' Job2:9
What causes a person to come to this point of saying: "I'm so done with you God"? In my humble opinion it is as a result of non-balanced view of what the Christian life is all about. On one side you constantly are bombarded with Health, Wealth, and Prosperity teachings. On the other side of the coin are those who believe that to be a Christian is to be detached from all that is pleasurable. Such a person apparently overlooked these verses from Scripture "who giveth us richly all things to enjoy. 1 Timothy 6:17....at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore Psalm 16:11....open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it." Psalm 81:10.
It is my contention that the person who said: "I'm so done with you God" lives only for what he can get from God not from what he can give God, not to mention that he hasn't believed in his heart that the self existent, Almighty, Yahweh, the Alpha and Omega, the great I AM answers to no one and is counseled by no one: "Who hath directed the Spirit of the Lord, or being his counsellor hath taught him? With
whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the
path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and shewed to him the way of
understanding? Isaiah 40:13-14 Finite man, is too limited in knowledge to speak, to approach, or to understand such a God...
O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! Romans 11:33 You cannot listen to your own words and follow the words of Jesus. So if you find yourself saying: "I'm so done with you God" then you do not reverence Him as Lord and Master of not only your own life but life itself!
Remember, Psalm 16: 11 states that: "man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward" Job 5:7 If you think you are too far gone and that because you actually said: "I'm so done with you God" that there is only judgement and woe awaiting you, think again. The only sin that our gracious loving heavenly Father won't forgive is the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. "
