Comment by Jeff Levinson on January 31, 2013 at 2:36am David, please read the book of Job, in the Bible.
It is very much still relevant to today. Let me explain. satan cannot operate other than his nature, and neither does he have any new tricks. his challenge to God is the same today as it was to Job..."Touch their ____ and they will curse You to Your face." This is not a trite platitude. This is a truth. It is absolutely imperative that we develop this attitude, that no matter what, we will serve Him. If your service to Him is abiding in pain and sickness and STILL choosing Him because of His great love for us, then know that as you refuse to turn from Him, but remain faithful to Him until He either heals you or takes you home, you will indeed pass from life to LIFE and receive the blessing of the righteous!
This is the victory, David, that we choose Him no matter what. Yes, I will (and already have) pray for you, that God strengthen you in the inner man, and give you hope beyond explanation.
God bless you, David. Jesus told us "In this world you will have trials and troubles, but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." What the heck does that mean anyway? It means He went to the cross and never gave up, nor lost His faith, showing us that it is possible if we cling to Him, and to the Father.
